A Message From Our CEO

The environment hospitals and health systems are navigating through today presents a host of challenges for healthcare leaders. Continued headwinds impacting operations, staffing, finances, and growing payor tensions demand providers' focus.

I would also like to thank participants of our Fall Board Meeting at the Turning Stone Resort in September, where we were able to get together for productive discussions about our upcoming legislative priorities, as well as speak with Senator John Mannion from the Syracuse area about current challenges in healthcare.

IHA has also begun meeting with state leaders such as the Health Commissioner, Jim McDonald, and new budget director, Blake Washington, to inform them of the challenges that upstate healthcare faces and the steps the state can take to bring reprieve.

As IHA hospital margins are struggling, UISS continues to form strategic partnerships to bring forth creative solutions to IHA members to reduce cost and improve quality. Earlier this year, we contracted with Remi who provides a unique approach to clinical equipment repair and maintenance services delivering savings between 16-20%.
